The Academy is a specialist hypnosis and clinical hypnotherapy educator. After achieving the first Government Accreditation for Clinical Hypnotherapy in the Australia’s Vocational Education Training Sector we have now focussed on Health Practitioner education and Advanced Techniques for Health Practitioners with hypnosis training and existing Clinical Hypnotherapists. This training is internet-based (study where and when you wish) with electronic and in-house support.

Dr Cowen also provides ongoing Supervision and Mentoring in both individual and group formats. He is unique in having achieved his PhD in Clinical Hypnotherapy Education from the School of Medicine, University of Western Sydney. With over 40 years as a Clinical Hypnotherapist, 30 years as an educator and extensive professional publications he is not only a leader in the profession but arguably one of the most experienced clinical hypnotherapists and clinical hypnotherapy educators internationally.

Training
You can undertake initial training or advanced skills with our flexible online delivery with Certificate of Completion. Training is divided into:

Mini Units: Low Cost, Short Duration and Introductory Knowledge.

Condensed Units: Reduced Costs, Medium Duration and Foundational Knowledge,

Full units: Reasonable Cost, Longer Duration and In-depth Knowledge.

Course: Practitioner Certificate in Hypnosis

Webinars: Low Cost, Short duration recordings on a variety of topics

Free stuff: For the public and Health Professionals. Information and training including Introduction to Hypnosis Course.


Add Hypnosis to existing health practitioner skills
If you’re an existing health professional (and rural and remote ) who wants to learn hypnosis or learn hypnotherapy we have specialised training for you. The Academy’s training is acknowledged by professional associations such as the Royal Australian Society of General Practitioners, Counsellors and Psychotherapists Association (NSW), and the Australian Society of Social Workers as a provider of continuing education for their members.

Hello all,
Well, 2014 is rolling by and as many of you have said you now focus on your plans for 2015. Enrolments are happening now for those who want to be ahead of the pack.

Online and face to face.
You have the convenience of studying online with support and the face to face sessions help put into practice what you have been learning. Our Intern Clinic gives you the support, supervision and guidance as you start your practice. It's a great learning environment!

Which college?
We certainly have an enviable track record being the first to achieve government accreditation for clinical hypnotherapy and our Executive Director, Leon W. Cowen, is soon to complete his PhD in clinical hypnotherapy education with the School of Medicine, University of Western Sydney. The important thing is to do your homework before you decide where to study. Look through the marketing and ensure it is the course you want with the accreditations you need e.g. to achieve health fund rebates (by the way, please see below: What you should know about health funds).

What you should know about health funds
If you desire to have health fund availability for your clients when you qualify as a practitioner be aware that indications suggest that health funds are moving toward a position where only graduates of government accredited courses will be able to offer this. Completing a course that is recognised by professional industry associations will facilitate you joining those associations but this will not automatically allow you to offer health fund rebates if the health funds restrict benefits to government accredited qualifications. Check the 'Provider Recognition Criteria' with Bupa and Australian Unity.
